Call for Participation

ISCAP welcomes submissions in four focus areas that advance teaching, learning, pedagogy, and scholarly practice in Information Systems & Computing. Authors may submit research papers, teaching case studies, abstracts of early stage research, hands-on workshops or panel presentation proposals.

ISCAP fosters a collegial and constructive community, providing a supportive conference where authors of all levels (faculty, graduate students, and industry professionals) receive valuable feedback to strengthen their work.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is included across all these focus areas, reflecting its growing impact on research and education.

Deadlines
  • April 15 – Paper System opens.
  • June 15 – Award consideration deadline for papers and cases. Priority deadline for panel & workshop proposals.
  • July 15 – Journal consideration and conference proceedings deadline for papers and cases. Final deadline for panel & workshop proposals.
  • August 17– Abstract deadline to present at the conference and appear in the proceedings.

Submission Types

All submission types are all handled via the Paper System, which guides authors through the process.

Research Papers
  • Full scholarly papers presenting original research, whether pedagogical, curricular, or applied research, that employs rigorous methodology and a comprehensive literature review.
  • Papers are limited to 5,000 words (excluding appendices and references) are published in the conference proceedings.
  • Each presentation is 25 minutes (including time for questions and answers) and is delivered to the ISCAP audience of academic professionals.
  • Must use the Paper Template (docx)
  • Must follow the Paper Guidelines.
Teaching Cases
  • Cases and activities are standalone classroom resources using scenarios to foster direct student learning and engagement.
  • Limited to 5,000 words (excluding appendices and references), cases are published in the conference proceedings with supporting materials submitted as separate files.
  • Each presentation is 25 minutes (including time for questions and answers) and is delivered to the ISCAP audience of academic professionals
  • Must use the Paper Template (docx)
  • Must follow the Case Guidelines.
Abstracts
  • Abstracts of 500 words or less for presenting works in progress to explore new ideas, to solicit feedback and find potential collaborators or co-authors.

  • Workshop proposals from both industry and academics that prioritize active faculty development through hands-on activities and tutorials.

Paper System

All submissions undergo blind review. Remove author names, affiliations, and identifying metadata. Author information is added after acceptance for final publication.

Journal Opportunities

Accepted conference papers may be revised and resubmitted in early January for consideration (via a second round of reviews) in one of our journals. If accepted for publication, the proceedings paper will be replaced with the abstract and a link to the full journal version.

  • The best paper in each focus area and best teaching case will be fast-tracked to the appropriate journal (ISEDJ, JISARA, or CPPJ) upon resubmission and an editor desk check.
  • The overall best paper that reflects pedagogy research will be fast-tracked to JISE, our premier journal.
